Horse Aware Week is a joint initiative between Clondalkin Equine Club, DSPCA, the Irish Horse Welfare Trust, Fettercairn Youth Horse Project & UCD Veterinary Hospital. It is part of a concerted effort to increase awareness about responsible horse ownership in the Dublin area

The Open Day will take place on Saturday 14th April from 11.00 -3.00 pm at Ballyowen Equine Centre, Ronanstown, Co Dublin.

Featuring talks from Irish flat racing jockey and trainer Johnny Murtagh; RACE Academy; Nikki Walsh, Vet, UCD on equine nutrition and worming; Keith Donohue, Dunsink Horse Club ‘From urban to saddle’ and Ann Keogan, Fettercairn Youth Horse Project on ‘How to lunge a horse’. The Garda Mounted Unit & Army Equitation School will also be there. The IHWT & Jig Saw Youth Mental Health will have information stands.
