The Irish Horse Welfare Trust (IHWT) cares for approx 60 horses and ponies at its dedicated centre in Woodenbridge, Co Wicklow. Established in 1999 to help the plight of horses in Ireland they are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused and neglected horses and ponies. GAIN Equine Nutrition is the official feed partner to the IHWT and is committed to supporting the charity in their fantastic efforts to rescue and rehabilitate neglected horses and ponies.
At the launch of the campaign Joanne Hurley Irish Country Manager, GAIN Equine Nutrition commented “GAIN Equine Nutrition are delighted to support the IHWT again this Christmas for the 5th consecutive year. Horse welfare is so important all year round but especially during these cold winter months. The IHWT work tirelessly to care for and rehome horses and ponies in need and we are delighted to be able to show our support for their work with our Christmas campaign”. Sharon Power IHWT added “We are so grateful to Gain Equine Nutrition for their continued support in sponsoring feed for all our IHWT horses and ponies at the farm”. Rescued equines need careful feeding for many months and throughout the entire winter season. This sponsorship is essential to us” The IHWT work also includes promoting ex-racehorses for equestrianism; as well as promoting equine welfare awareness and running educational programmes. One of the most recent and biggest successes has been the Dunsink Horse Project in Dublin, developed and managed by IHWT and Fingal County Council working closely with the local community. Please support this very worthy and exciting campaign to help horses and pones in need this Christmas.
